Sinopse
Um espectáculo criado a partir de uma pesquisa sobre histórias vividas à volta de uma mesa.
Pôr a mesa, construir a mesa, para ser a mesa-paisagem de um encontro. Cada parte desta mesa é um pedaço de um puzzle com séculos de histórias por contar, de palavras por nomear: fome, casa, encontro, trabalho, intimidade, poder, futuro e tantas outras.
Quantas histórias estão guardadas no modo preciso como um corpo se organiza, ou é organizado, para comer?
As criadoras do SET THE TABLE realizaram quatro residências artísticas em: Zagreb - Croácia, Marvila - Portugal, Sibiu - Roménia, Kortrijk - Bélgica. Através de uma oficina em cada cidade, encontraram-se com um grupo de pessoas que se identificam com o género feminino. Práticas de escrita, exercícios de corpo, movimento, voz, ritmo e entrevistas individuais deram origem a um arquivo de histórias. Um processo de partilha e encontro onde cada história ocupa o seu lugar à mesa. Pessoas de Zagreb, Sibiu, Marvila e Kortrijk juntam-se na Biblioteca de Marvila para montar uma mesa, pôr a mesa, abrir a mesa e partilhar histórias onde todas nós somos convidadas a brindar.
Esta pesquisa, realizada durante cerca de um ano, foi documentada em vídeo e estreia conjuntamente com o espetáculo.

Synopsis
A performance created based on a research of stories lived around a table.
Setting the table, building the table, to be the table-landscape of a meeting. Each part of this table is a piece of a puzzle with centuries of untold stories, and words to be named: hunger, home, meeting, work, intimacy, power, future and so many others.
How many stories are stored within the precise way that a body organizes itself, or is organized, to eat?
A table is an organic body. A mutant piece of furniture. An UFO on the living room carpet.
The SET THE TABLE creators organized four artist residencies in: Zagreb - Croatia, Marvila - Portugal, Sibiu - Romania, Kortrijk - Belgium. Through a workshop in each city, they met with a group of people who identify with the feminine gender. Writing practices, body exercises, movement, voice, rhythm and individual interviews gave origin to an archive of stories. A process of sharing and meeting where each story takes its place at the table. People from Zagreb, Sibiu, Marvila and Kortrijk get together at the Marvila Library to set up a table, prepare a table, open a table and share stories where we are all invited to toast.
This research, conducted over about a year, was documented on video and premieres together with the show.
